Lake Mead has over 550 miles of shoreline, so I use my 250 horsepower outboard to get my fishing boat across the long distances quickly. When browsing for Electric Trolling Motors, I figured I needed a powerful one for such a big lake. I chose one with 100 pounds of thrust and 36 volt battery capacity. At least if I ran out of gas it would be able to get me back to the marina. Mead has largemouth bass, crappie and bluegill, but it is known for its striped bass fishing. The lake record is about 60 pounds, and I hope to catch one bigger.
