It is a known fact that the voice files are not usually secured when they are still on the recorder. If you want to secure it, you can save the file on your computer and put password on it. But it is different with Olympus DS 5000 as it has a feature that will keep the files save in the recorder.
This feature is called device lock. This makes it possible for the user to put password on the files so nobody can play them on the recorder. This will make the files as secured as possible especially if the information obtained is from a responded where you would need keep the information and identity classified.
